I know he was unsatisfied with the plastic versions of his Ap-Art in the 1970s, but I still have my old Spirus, and it was an early inspiration for my lifelong love of geometrical puzzles. So I'm glad that those were available to puzzle fans at the Thomas Atkinsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02075501187222312821noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4237973204007676066.post-86960691206553714962011-04-16T19:22:55.039-04:002011-04-16T19:22:55.039-04:00Hi Scott,

In the the 3rd photo of Stewart's mantle, there is a star made of Padauk and Maple laminations - that is Stella's Good Cents which is one of a very few of my designs. This design is a modification of one of Stewart's designs, and I thought he might like a copy. Wow - I'm so honored to have that on Stewart's mantle!

Scott Petersonnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4237973204007676066.post-25336202529969466222011-03-04T12:10:50.631-05:002011-03-04T12:10:50.631-05:00Thanks Bernhard! Did he discuss whether he is still designing puzzles, or what his "process" for developing new ideas was? Was puzzle design his occupation or done as a hobby? Very interesting blog.
